Introduction to Holy Spirit
Christians believe in One God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This leads to the study and survey about the Work of the Holy Spirit. John Owen says, “The doctrine of the Spirit of God, His work and grace, is the second great head of principle of those gospel truth, wherein the glory of God and the good of the soul of men are most eminently concerned.” As Gordon says that, “Now, then, in the beginning the study of the Holy Spirit, the first thing that must be said is that He is a person.” In order to study and survey the Person of the Holy Spirit, Christians must refer to the Bible, because the Bible is the one and only source of information on the Spirit. It is therefore indispensable that Christians know that the bible teaches concerning the Holy Spirit as to both His nature and office. He is the object of their faith, and Christians believe on the Holy Spirit. Preacher like Billy Graham, in his book “The Holy Spirit,” assigns emotion to the Holy Spirit. It is good to see at least people treat the Holy Spirit as a person.
