家和万事兴, unity will bring prosperity to you. let me propose to you my 2 cents opinions, this is what I learned from years spend in seminary. There are 2 kinds of tongues in the Bible.
First kind of tongues is in Acts, there are human languages.
Acts 2:8-11
| 2:8 | 我 们 各 人 ， 怎 样 听 见 他 们 说 我 们 生 来 所 用 的 乡 谈 呢 。 |
| 2:9 | 我 们 帕 提 亚 人 ， 玛 代 人 ， 以 拦 人 ， 和 住 在 米 所 波 大 米 ， 犹 太 ， 加 帕 多 家 ， 本 都 ， 亚 西 亚 ， |
| 2:10 | 弗 吕 家 ， 旁 非 利 亚 ， 埃 及 的 人 ， 并 靠 近 古 利 奈 的 吕 彼 亚 一 带 地 方 的 人 ， 从 罗 马 来 的 客 旅 中 ， 或 是 犹 太 人 ， 或 是 进 犹 太 教 的 人 ， |
| 2:11 | 革 哩 底 和 亚 拉 伯 人 ， 都 听 见 他 们 用 我 们 的 乡 谈 ， 讲 说 神 的 大 能 作 为 。 |
Second kind of tongue is in Corinthians:
14:2 那 说 方 言 的 ， 原 不 是 对 人 说 ， 乃 是 对 神 说 。 因 为 没 有 人 听 出 来 。 然 而 他 在 心 灵 里 ， 却 是 讲 说 各 样 的 奥 秘 。(This tongue is not a human language, this is a kind of unknown sound, intend to speak to God, not to man. For the purpose of praying.)
14:4 说 方 言 的 ， 是 造 就 自 己 。 作 先 知 讲 道 的 ， 乃 是 造 就 教 会 。(For self edification, Paul did not say it is wrong)
14:14 我 若 用 方 言 祷 告 ， 是 我 的 灵 祷 告 。 但 我 的 悟 性 没 有 果 效 。(My spirit pray, this is not devilish, or demon processed, do not confused here, it is my spirit whom is praying, not the Holy Spirit, so tongue speaking is not a sign of filling or fullness of Holy Spirit, it is not a sign of maturity, a spirit gift to edify yourself.)
14:15 这 却 怎 麽 说 呢 。 我 要 用 灵 祷 告 ， 也 要 用 悟 性 祷 告 。 我 要 用 灵 歌 唱 ， 也 要 用 悟 性 歌 唱 。(Paul wanted them to pray in tongue and also pray in ordinary languages) (Paul did not say tongue speaking is wrong.)
14:18 我 感 谢 神 ， 我 说 方 言 比 你 们 众 人 还 多 。(EVEN Paul spoke in tongue more than us)
14:27 若 有 说 方 言 的 ， 只 好 两 个 人 ， 至 多 三 个 人 ， 且 要 轮 流 说 ， 也 要 一 个 人 翻 出 来 。(Paul taught them how to speak in tongue, Paul hope there is translation for the purpose of edification in the church.)
| 14:39 | 所 以 我 弟 兄 们 ， 你 们 要 切 慕 作 先 知 讲 道 ， 也 不 要 禁 止 说 方 言 。 |
| 14:40 | 凡 事 都 要 规 规 矩 矩 的 按 着 次 序 行 。 |
Paul laid down the rules and conditions to speak in tongue in the church,
PAUL concluded : DO NOT FORBID PEOPLE TO SPEAK IN TONGUE.
13:8 爱 是 永 不 止 息 。 先 知 讲 道 之 能 ， 终 必 归 于 无 有 。 说 方 言 之 能 ， 终 必 停 止 ， 知 识 也 终 必 归 于 无 有 。
Paul said let the tongue stop it self, do not try to stop it.
12:30 岂 都 是 得 恩 赐 医 病 的 麽 。 岂 都 是 说 方 言 的 麽 。 岂 都 是 翻 方 言 的 麽 。
Paul said not everyone will speak in tongue, it is a gift, given by God. Freely asked freely given. God still gives this spiritual gifts freely to the body of Christ. Look at the Charismatic Movement, we must be patient toward a tongue speaker, like Paul we are to approach them and fellowship with them with good doctrines, love is the greatest. Amen
Do not quarrel about tongue speaking, please reconcile. The Lord is coming soon. Thanks.
